A few days ago I decided to try out one of the new stand up paddleboards we just recieved from Tahoe SUP. I wanted to do this but i also had some friend in town for the weekend. They had never paddled before but i thought they could handle it if I got them out on the water, so I picked up some boards and headed to the sound behind my house. First I put my friend out on a Surftech Randy French SUP, one of the more stable models. Then I went in on the Tahoe. I paddled around a bit and I found the board to be very stable. With that in mind I decided to let my buddy paddle the Tahoe so that his girlfriend could use the Randy French. I in turn paddled a Surtech Laird 12'1", probably my favorite board to date. So as the skies faded we paddled out into the evening. It was probably about twenty minutes after sunset and the sky was putting on a show. The water was absolutely calm and the glassy conditions made for an easy paddled. For about the next half hour we paddled out into the sound. I had to laugh as I watched my friend paddling ahead with the sunset silhouetting his shape. His girlfriend took to paddling very easily and we all made it back to shore without getting wet. I had a great time going out with them. Watching the water rippling off their paddles in the afterglow of a beautiful sunset is a memory I will not soon loose. After paddling we sat out for a while watching the stars and tracking satellites as they passed overhead. It truly was an evening to remember. Thanks Tahoe SUP....
